Our Commitment to Neutrality
The Outcomes Based Contracting initiative exists to ensure students succeed. As such, we work in service to no specific district or specific provider. We make our tools and results public. We educate providers about OBC so that no particular organization is privileged in their ability to win an outcomes based contracting bid.
We work to build capacity and knowledge about paying for outcomes on the buy side (school districts) and the sell side (providers). We do this by teaching districts how to establish contracts with outside providers that have a significant portion of payment contingent on improved student outcomes. Our vision is that this method – paying for outcomes, not simply the delivery of services – will create a market for outcomes, greatly diminishing the current marketplace that thrives on marketing, giveaways, and relationships, but delivers inconsistent results.
