She oversees partnerships with state education agencies and policy implementation. A former labor attorney, Deputy Superintendent at the California Department of Education, and Vice Mayor of Alameda, California, Malia brings extensive experience in public policy and advocacy. She holds a BA from Wellesley College and a JD from Santa Clara University School of Law.
