Raymond Pierce

Raymond C. Pierce is President and CEO of the Southern Education Foundation, leading its mission to advance educational opportunities for African American and low-income students. His career includes serving as Dean of North Carolina Central University School of Law and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education. He has practiced law in higher education and civil rights and served on national policy councils. Raymond holds degrees from Syracuse University, Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and Duke University.
